About Us

Wildlife Care Mackay Inc. is a not for profit organisation and we service the Mackay and Isaac regions.

We are proud supporters of RSPCA and our local veterinary clinics, assisting them in placing our local wildlife with volunteer rehabilitators, where they can be rehabilitated and released back into the wild.

We hold a group rehabilitation permit and this allows members who have undergone the appropriate training to care for sick, injured and orphaned Australian native wildlife. Our primary objective is to support our volunteer rehabilitators in their rehabilitation efforts and together we celebrate the successful release of each little native animal.

The members who care for our wildlife are volunteers who open their homes and their wallets to support their many patients. Our wonderful rehabilitators spend many sleepless nights doing the best they can for the many animals that come into care. Of course, there are also members who might not be actively caring for our native wildlife, but who are instead working tirelessly behind-the-scenes to promote our organisation, fundraise, manage our affairs , answer the many queries on our messaging platform and still manage to squeeze in some rescues when able.

Without our amazing volunteers and without the unbelievably generous and kind people of Mackay and surrounds, none of this would be possible. So thank you Mackay!
